Encaustic Art - Create a path

Write your awesome label here.

Each path leads somewhere…

A path brings depth.
With a path, you can easily create the illusion of something in the distance.

1. Using the iron

Heat the wax with the tip of the iron and push the wax aside.Make sure the tip is not too high, then the wax is not heated enough to push the wax into steps.

2. Using the scriber

Use the scriber tool to scrape away the wax. This works best in areas where the wax colour is dark. Be careful with the crumb of wax that the scriber leaves behind. During polishing this can add colour in places where it was not intended.

3. Using a tissue

If the wax is still warm, the wax can be wiped away with a tissue.Be quick because the wax solidifies quickly!Heat the wax with the tip of the iron and push the wax aside.Make sure the tip is not too high, then the wax is not heated enough to push the wax into steps.

Tips en tricks

A path in the distance seems narrow. The closer you get, the wider the path becomes.

Make sure the lines of the path run parallel to the bottom of the card to prevent the feeling of falling off the path.

Which path do you choose?
